I hope 2026 has started off well for all of you. It has for me! I am especially enjoying writing the sixth and final book in my series: The Dragons of Nibiru Return. I hope to have this final installment ready for the editor by summer’s end. 

​At the beginning of January this year, I set up at an indoor market in downtown Chilliwack and had lots of fun. 
Last August and December, I was invited to the Cole’s bookstore in Penticton to participate in meet and greet signings with a dozen local authors. Both days there were great as well. I look forward to participating in another signing soon. 

I will be running some contests this year, so stay tuned for future announcements!

I hope you’re all having a good spring, and getting ready for an even better summer! My spring has been quite a busy one, including a happy return to book signing!
Yes, a few weeks ago — on Saturday, May 10th, to be exact — I participated in the first annual Chilliwack Book Festival, with more than 20 other authors from BC and Alberta in attendance.

It was a great festival, and I had a blast, but I sure was tired by the time I got home. I’m really looking forward to next year’s event and hope some of you can make it.
I even celebrated another trip around the sun just recently. And I'm planning on many more such trips. Including one with a new book in it, in the not-too-terribly-distant future...

I hope this nice spring day finds you all doing well. I apologize that I have not posted in a long time, but I was under the weather. I am now doing better and eager to get back to book six of the Dragon of Nibiru series, planned for release sometime next year.

The contest related to this book ends soon, so be sure to send in your suggestions on how to dispose of High Chancellor Deebee Scabbage. Team Nibiru is eager to choose a winner—the person who makes what the team agrees to be the best idea for Deebee’s demise. Their name will appear in that chapter of the book, and somewhere else in the story as well. I look forward to all your ideas!

On May 10th I will be doing my first book-signing since late 2022. The Owl and The Cat Bookery is hosting a multi-author event, and I’ll be in attendance with copies ready to sign for you. The store is located on the University of the Fraser Valley’s Chilliwack Campus, 45190 Caen Avenue in Chilliwack. Food will be available and there will be prizes to be won!

Dragon Box - Up for Auction!
​Also happening this May will be a silent auction to raise funds for local homeless pets. I’ve contributed a Dragon Box (shown above) to be auctioned off, as well as one of my original paintings (below). The little flier farther down below gives details about the event. Come on down if you are in the area, or go online to make a bid and help a worthy cause.

Thus far, 2025 has been quite an adventure. One which I believe gives proves why creativity is more important now than ever. So, if you’re a writer, get those words written down! If you’re a painter, dig out the paints and get going! If you’re a…well, you get the idea. I am doing it, and so can you!

I hope that 2023 has started out well for you. It surely has for me. Several bookstores have placed orders for more books because they’re running low on all four Dragons of Nibiru Series titles. A great way to start the new year!

I am busy writing book five, Dragons of the Future, and I’m having a blast. I hope to have it ready for you later this year.

In the meantime, I will be holding more book signings, so come on down to say hello if I am in your area. Here are the signings scheduled for the next few weeks:

I am happy to let you know that our latest winner of one of my “Dragons and More Dragons” gift boxes is a delightful Kelowna resident, four-year-old AB. She filled out her own entry form and correctly spelt her name — which is quite impressive for such a young Dragon lover.

AB and her mother visited my table at the recent Kelowna Immaculata School Christmas Fair. It was special to see them out enjoying the festive day, along with so many other families.

Things have been going well since bookstores re-opened their doors to book-signings, post-covid. I have been keeping busy, usually doing two signings per week. That’s slowing down a bit now, since stores hold few such events during the last couple of months of the year.

​The good news is that despite only three signings booked in November, we’ve reached a major milestone! On Friday, November 11, at the signing event held at the great little Coles store in Vernon, a reader bought the 7,500th Dragons of Nibiru book sold since mid-2017, when I began this exciting adventure!

In the photo you can see young Cash with the milestone 7,500th copy. With him is his younger sister Emerson, ready to cast a spell!

One might think that 7,500 books is not very many. But did you know that the great majority of books sell just 250 to 300 total copies? I can tell you I was surprised to learn that! So, needless to say, I am quite proud of achieving this milestone in just a bit over five years.

Next goal: 10,000 books!!

Just before I headed out on my recent book-signing and writing workshop tour, I spent some time doing some touristy things in my new community, West Kelowna, BC. I have never really gone on much of a holiday, so this was my first time at trying to be a tourist. I had a blast!

The first few photos below were taken at the local kangaroo rescue farm near Kelowna. I was surprised at how large the farm is, and that they have more than just rescued kangaroos. I met many interesting characters, from their porcupine princess to emus, peacocks, goats, a pot-bellied pig, capybaras and an albino baby wallaby.

The animals are well treated, and it was nice to see they have lots of freedom. The farm is only open for five hours a day, to give the animals a break from visitors. The farm staff truly care about the well-being of all the animals they have rescued.

A few days after visiting the kangaroo farm I headed out on my first book tour since covid started, and I am now safely home. And what a great and fun tour it was! I made it to several stores in the Vancouver area, including Chilliwack. Then all the way up to Prince George, where I did two book signings, one at Books & Co. and the other at Coles in the Pine Centre Mall.

I also had a fun interview with Allan Wishart from CFIS radio station in Prince George, on their show “After Nine”. Thanks to Allan for such an awesome experience and chance to share. And stay tuned, you readers, because I'll be posting an audio clip of the interview here in the not-too-distant future.

After the interview, things got even better. Allan came down to Books & Co. to get his own copy of Dragons of the Past. And then the photo below was taken.

Dragons of the Past at Number One!

I truly was surprised to see my latest release in the #1 spot on the Books & Co. shelf. The staff at this unique and awesome little independent bookstore are terrific. I always love doing signings at their stores in Prince George and Quesnel. A big thanks to Owen and all his staff for their great support on my last tour and over the years.

If all that was not enough to make a great tour even better, the next day — and the last signing for the tour — put the icing on the cake, as they say. The next wonderful surprise was at the Coles at Pine Centre Mall in Prince George. The great staff there helped me beat my previous record for books sold at a single signing. A record that had been in place since August of 2018. So, a huge thanks and shout-out to Paul and all the great staff. (I’ll be adding a photo of the Coles staff soon!)

I am still keeping busy, with signings at the local Coles stores in Penticton on Saturday, August 27th and Vernon on the 28th. My next tour starts on September 3 at the Indigo store at Signal Hill, in Calgary. I’ll also be visiting a few other stores in Calgary: St. Albert, Edmonton, Red Deer and Nelson. See you there!

I have a treat for those of you who love to tinker in the kitchen: “Cookbook for Dragons” will be hot off the presses in a week or so. My Dragon friends and I had a blast putting it together for you. Especially Vin, who is eagerly working on Volume 2.

​This first cookbook is fairly short, because Fianna wanted to be sure to get something out to you before the summer ended. Vin promises that Volume 2 will bring you many more pages full of tasty and interesting recipes. Goodies that even those who don’t like to cook should find fun to create — just like those in this first volume!
​I hope you’ll try some of these fun recipes and let me know which are your favourites.
